The DIACOMET consortium held its first online NGO meeting organised by the Hungarian Europe Society and Praxis from Estonia on 23 April 2025. The key objective of the network is to coordinate the work of civil society organisations active on the field of media accountability, media literacy and education, self-regulation and communication ethics.

“Who were the Mothers of Europe?” Members of a consortium from the Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, Spain, Poland and Hungary sought answers to this question in a new edited volume and with the posters of eighteen identified outstanding women.
As a representative of the DIACOMET project Erik Uszkiewicz participated at the international conference entitled "Regulation and Accountability in a Hybrid Media System: Content Creators, Algorithmic Plurality and Online Platforms" held at Charles University in Prague, 10-11 February 2025.
István Hegedűs held a presentation entitled "Strongman and Illiberalism - Pushing Back Against the Enemies of Liberal Democracy in Hungary" at the Annual Conference of the Austrian Political Science Association entitled "Pushing Back Against the Enemies of Democracy" at the Central European University in Vienna on 29 November 2024.
István Hegedűs and Erik Uszkiewicz participated at the annual festival of NECE (Networking European Civic Education) in Tirana between 14 and 17 November 2024. During a session of the event that was held in the cultural center Pyramid, Erik Uszkiewicz presented the activities and potential future outcomes of the DIACOMET project.

About the project
Mothers of Europe is an initiative that tells the story of the pioneering achievements of women who helped shape modern Europe – women who championed democracy, social progress, and justice, yet remain underrepresented in our knowledge about history.
As a preparation for the task of designing the Principles of Good Communication Conduct, the DIACOMET project has completed a systematic collection of existing codes of ethics and guidelines for public communication. They are presented to the public in the form of a searchable online database that is integrated in the DIACOMET project website. It is now available online.
Erik Uszkiewicz gave a presentation entitled "How Ukraine and Russia have been portrayed in the Hungarian public sphere since February 2022" at the Warsaw East European Conference at the University of Warsaw on 3 July 2024. The theme of the twentieth academic meeting in a row was "How to Deter Russia: Resilience of Ukraine and the Western Community".
