The publication by the Hungarian Europe Society entitled "The Future of Democracy: Strengthening Liberal Values, Institutions and Procedures at Global, European, Regional and National Levels" has been issued in June 2022.
On 27 November 2020 the new board of the association was elected at the general meeting of the Hungarian Europe Society.
In the framework of the Citizen-rights project trainers of the Foundation for Democratic Youth in co-operation with the Hungarian Europe Society held sessions about democratic rights and responsibility for altogether hundred students of the Petrik Lajos Bilingual Secondary School, the Alternative Secondary School of Economics, the Városmajori Secondary School and the Politechnikum between November 2015 and January 2016.
On 8 December 2015 the Hungarian Europe Society signed the “Petition to European Parliament and the EU Council to accelerate the signing of an agreement on the Common Aviation Area between the European Union and its member states and Ukraine” initiated by the Visa Free Europe Coalition.
Zsuzsanna Végh gave a presentation in the panel discussion “EU Membership Prospects for Moldova, Georgia and Ukraine?” on behalf of the Hungarian Europe Society at the 7th Annual Assembly of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum entitled "Moving Reforms Forward in Testing Times" in Kyiv on 19-21 November 2015.
On 8 September 2015, Hungarian NGO-s, including the Hungarian Europe Society, in a joint statement, asked the Hungarian government to acknowledge humanitarian aspects when dealing with the refugees and expressed their gratitude to the volunteers for their work.
István Hegedűs made a presentation for students of Princeton University at the seat of HES on 10 July 2015.
In June 2015 a new book entitled "The Rule of Law and Terrorism" edited by Petra Bárd was published by hvgorac publishing house. The starting momentum of the volume was a conference held by HES under the same title in 2006. The publication has been sponsored by HES from a grant of the Open Society Institute.

Elemér Hankiss, member of the advisory board of the Hungarian Europe Society, died at age 86 on 10 January 2015.
On 24 November 2014 the Hungarian Europe Society signed the analysis prepared by four Hungarian NGOs (the Eötvös Károly Policy Institute, the Hungarian Helsinki Committee, the Hungarian Civil Liberties Union and the Mérték Media Monitor) assessing the current deficiencies of the rule of law, democracy, pluralism and respect for human rights in Hungary.
On 10 September 2014, Roger Golland, a British diplomat and political analyst talked to the members of the Hungarian Europe Society about the possible outcomes of the referendum on Scottish independence to be held on 18 September 2014, and its European implications in the contexts of the rise of nationalisms in Europe and the financial-economic crisis.
Charles Gati, senior fellow at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, was the guest of the Hungarian Europe Society on 16 March 2014.
Kim Lane Scheppele, constitutional lawyer at Princeton University joined the Advisory Board of the Hungarian Europe Society on 24 January 2014.
Gábor Iványi, head of the Hungarian Evangelical Fellowship talked about the relation of politics and church to members of the Hungarian Europe Society on 20 November 2013 at Central Bistro.
"The creation of a Europe-wide database of NGO-s supporting the development of European integration, as well as a database on private foundations and other sponsors ready to support them, would highly assist the activities and horizontal cooperation in this field. Partnerships might emerge among those organizations which are prepared and capable to work together for the future of Europe", suggested Györgyi Kocsis on a focus-group discussion organised by consultant firms at the Representation of the European Commission to Hungary on 16 November 2013.
On 13 November 2013, the Vice-President of the European Commission answered in details to the letter of four Hungarian NGO-s, including the Hungarian Europe Society, in which the civil organisations had criticised the procedure of the Hungarian media authority regarding the licensing of frequency to Klubrádió.
Tamás Boros, director of Policy Solutions made a presentation entitled "Which political group is going to win the European Parliament elections in 2014?" on 28 October 2013.
"Changing models of media authorities" - was the title of the public debate held on October 3rd in the House of the European Union by the Center for Independent Journalism and the Mérték Médiaelemző Műhely (a think tank for media research and analysis). The organisers invited the interested media professionals to discuss the ideal structure and functions of the media authority.
Ágnes Sebestyén - representing HES - participated in the event of VoteWatch Europe entiteld "MyVote2014.eu seminar: Using online tools to promote young voter participation in the 2014 European Parliament elections" to be held in Brussels on 18-19 September 2013.
Zoltán Gyenes, official at the Directorate General for Economic and Financial Affairs (DG ECFIN) of the European Commission made a presentation entitled Hungary and the excessive deficit procedure to members of HES on 14 June 2013 in Brussels.
On 14 June 2013 Hungarian NGO-s completed their opinion on the recommendations of the High Level Group on Media Freedom and Pluralism (Frieberga Committee) as part of a public consultation initiated by the European Commission. HES was represented by Judit Bayer and István Hegedűs at the meetings of the civil organisations.
On 16 May 2013 István Hegedűs represented HES in an expert meeting in the Independent Journalism Centre in Budapest. The participants discussed the recommendations of the high-level group established by the European Commission on media freedom and pluralism.
On 5 May 2013 the Hungarian Europe Society joined the proposal of the Association of Hungarian Journalists to the Hungarian Prime Minister to nominate László Majtényi to the top position of the National Media and Infocommunications Authority.
In frame of the project 'Public Administration Reform in Visegrad Countries: Lessons Learned for Belarus and Ukraine' experts from Belarus were taking part on a study trip in Budapest between 21 and 25 April. The guests were visiting some Hungarian public administration organs and NGOs.
As a member of the international "Visa-free Europe Coalition", the Hungarian Europe Society, together with the Ukrainian NGO “Europe without Barriers” and the CEU Center for EU Enlargement Studies, was one of the organisers of the event entitled „EU Visa Policy: What Neighbors Could Do? Example of Hungary”; which took place on 8 April 2013 at Central European University (CEU) in Budapest.
The Hungarian Europe Society, as the partner of the German Marshall Fund of the United States of America, was once again the organiser of the study tour of US fellows in Budapest between 22 and 26 March 2013. The guests had professional and political meetings, including presentations by HES members. Györgyi Kocsis made an introductory lecture on the Hungarian political development, whilst István Hegedűs spoke about Hungary as a member state of the European Union, and Zsuzsanna Szelényi talked about the political concepts of Együtt 2014 Movement.

The European Citizens’ initiative for Media Pluralism was registered by the European Commission on 5 October 2012. The Hungarian campaign will be led by a coalition of five NGO-s, including HES.
On 11 July 2012, the Hungarian News Agency (MTI) refused to publish the declaration of the Hungarian Europe Society in an e-mail sent to the NGO. In this statement HES had congratulated to the journalists Aranka Szávuly and Balázs Nagy Navarro to their media prize announced in Leipzig. HES objected the decision of MTI in its response sent also in an e-mail. The conflict became public in an opinion-piece published on hvg.hu on 15 July 2012.
HES members met with Franziska Brantner, member of the Greens/European Free Alliance political group in the European Parliament for a discussion on European issues on 30 May 2012.
The Center for European Union Research of the Central European University and the Hungarian Europe Society organised a roundtable debate entitled „Where are they? Civil society actors and European integration” at the Central European University on 17 April 2012. HES was represented by Rita Galambos.
