Growing Concern in the West

“It’s now very well known in the international media that we’re on a very dangerous track toward a more and more authoritarian regime,” said István Hegedűs as quoted by Andrew MacDowall in his article "Illiberal Democracy: How Hungary’s Orban Is Testing Europe" published in World Politics Review on 18 December 2014. Hegedűs added: “The terms used by McCain were not perfect, but show how the U.S. looks at Hungary currently, with what distrust, and how much Orban personally has isolated himself from the West.”
